How Pets Work
- Riding. A mounted pet sets your speed. Faster pets cover more of the map per run and reach announced eggs before other players.
- Earning. A pet placed on your plot pays the income shown on its label while you play.
- Mutating. The developer’s own description says mutations make pets go even faster; we will document the exact effect once we have mutated pets to compare.
- Selling and gifting. There is no player-to-player trading. Hatched pets can be sold for cash, and shop items can be gifted to players in the same server.

Which Pet Should You Ride?
Decide by job. For egg runs you want the shortest run time, so ride your fastest pet. For income you want the highest cash per second, so park your best earner on the plot and leave it there. Read both numbers off your own pet labels and put them into the Ride A Pet Calculator to see which pet wins each job. The pets that unlock the next stage are listed on Ride A Pet Rebirth.
Pets FAQ
- Can you trade pets in Ride A Pet?
- No. There is no trade window and no way to send a trade request. You can gift shop items to players in your server, and you can sell your own hatched pets for cash, but hatched pets cannot be exchanged between players.
- What does the Index do?
- The Index records every pet and egg you have collected and pays a cash reward when you register new ones. Register a pet before selling a duplicate, otherwise you lose the reward for it.
- Which pet should I ride?
- For egg runs, the fastest pet you own; for earning while you are away, the pet with the highest income on its label placed on your plot. The two jobs use different stats, so the best pet for one is often not the best for the other.
- Why are some stats marked pending?
- Stats on a pet label are individual readings, not species averages. We publish a number only after reading it from a pet we own, and until then the cell stays pending rather than guessed.
